I seem to discover a lot of bands after they've stopped recording. A couple of years ago it was the Kidney Thieves, now it's Dead Can Dance. I just got Wake which is a 2 CD compilation. It has some cool stuff.

Other than that, I've been listening to the Necromantix, a psychobilly band.

Today it's the Drive By Truckers, Southern Rock Opera. This is a big 2 cd set, jangly 3 guitar southern rock. It's a mock serious "spiritual journey" about the band's history, couched in a mythic story about Lynrd Skinnerd, dabbling in stereotypic southern icons along the way. The band plays well, the songs are good and the "Opera" (Song Cycle?) thing actually works.

I have been listening to alot of deftones lately. Since I set my speakers up with my A250 amp the B&Ws seem to love heavy rock. I also have been listening to My Bloody Valentine alot. Kevin Sheilds"of MBV" is a sick guitar player as well...

I'm on a Will Oldham a.k.a Bonnie Prince Billy kick lately. I'm really getting into his new album, Lie Down in the Light.

Also, I've recently upgraded my analog rig and have been re-collecting his albums on vinyl. It's fun to hear the difference in sound between the CDs and LPs.

Having recently purchased some new speakers that sound exceptionally good with live rock (JBL Stadiums), I have just ordered a pile of live classic rock CDs.
Steppenwolf, Blue Oyster Cult, Rush, Allman Bros., Supertramp, The Doors, Kansas, etc.
