John Cougar Mellancamp "Scarecrow" on LP I just picked this album upused last week and I'm surprised at how good this album really is. Great lyrics and music.

Spocks' Beard "self titled" on CD. I like this album from the very first album. Thanks to those who mentioned them on this thread. :)

Dedicated by Steve Cropper and a host of friends including BB King, Steve Winwood and John Popper. The music of the 5 Royales, way ahead of their time in the early fifties. The colonel still has it way into his seventies. Strongly recommeded if you like proper rock and roll by people who know how play.

I think certain tracks are better, but as an album overall I prefer In Absentia.
It could be the mood I was in during the time of listening...I found this album to sound similar to Tool with a litlle bit of Yes thrown in. Either album is great but today I wanted more of a hard rock edge to it. :)

Steven Wilson - Grace for Drowning

One full listen through the first disc and still digesting it. Will need a few more listens, since it is a LOT of music over the two discs. I really enjoyed it so far. I can hear a lot of things that are very Steve, but there's a lot that doesn't sound like what I've come to expect. It has elements from many other types of music yet they are incorporated into one in a seamless way. Gonna take some more time to peel back those layers and really take it all in.

Sneaker Pimps Becoming X is a fine album!
 Is that the name of the album? As an electrical engineer, I got caught up on the cover art rather than paying attention to the label. I wonder if teh subsequent albums are any good after the lead singer left the group?

I listened to the album after that one and decided not to buy it, but that was only samples. Wasn't quite the same band once she left.

J.B. Lenoir "Alabama Blues" on 180 gm vinyl. This album is a must have for blues lovers. The recording is dead quiet with no audable background noise whatsoever.
