I decided to dip in to my Jazz collection last night too as I just wasn't up to the power ballads or rock n roll.

I can (and did) sit and listen to the whole thing even though I intended just to listen to the title track.
Lots of goodness in there.
Sometimes, jazz is like rum and coke, or vodka and orange juice when the bartender asks; "What are you having?" and you really don't know what you want from all the available choices. The safe bet that's almost always going to sound good, quality wise.
I will give your suggestion a try later on. Like you, I did the same thing last night. Put on the whole albums just in case, and I did listen to all of what I chose and I did end up enjoying it, a lot, actually.
Yesterday must have been, "Really Stupid Driver Friday." I had 3 close calls with wandering cell phone drivers in my 17 mile drive home. The inherent road rage was not wanting anything too exciting until well after the initial unwind. By then, I had mildly self medicated to the point where I no longer cared.
