Any advice on which speakers to purchase? I want to get the best overall on wall speaker for movies and music.
Spent the night Saturday at my buddies place. He has Radius 225's on the wall next to a 46" LCD on a bracket (LCD is about 6" from the wall). He demoed wall mounted speakers for about a year, not willing to give up his Mission's without a fight. He has a 8" Energy sub, driven with a Marantz 100W reciever.
If your familiar with MA, the higher frequencies sounded like you'd expect. Very clear and articulate, blending well with the mid driver. The mid range was fair overall, but very good considering they're wall mounted. The mid bass was very dependant on what was being played. I swear that on some CD's I though they sounded almost perfect, but on others the mid bass was really struggling.
We were playing everythig loud and very loud. When played loud they sounded great. When played very loud all kinds of things were going on, some of the good started sounding bad, anything bad sounded well bad!
Overall, I would give this setup a 7/10 but because of the WAF, the score has to be more of an 8.5/10.
