It looks like the U.S. just bombed three nuclear facilities in Iran. B2s were apparently used to drop bunker busters. It will be interesting to see if the bombs penetrated deep enough to take out Fordow.
Not sure what else to say. We are in uncharted waters now
Hopefully the facilities were taken out completely but Iran can still rebuild and possibly (likely?) get help in this from Russia and North Korea. They are cooperating with Russia already, allegedly, sharing nuclear weapons know-how with both Iran and North Korea.
One question is how to stop Iran to rebuild it's nuclear programme, and that I suspect will be very difficult to achieve. Trump is not expected to honour any agreement as seen by his actions just this year since his inauguration, so not much trust, to put it mildly. Not even close US friends and allies are sure any more, so what is a malignant theocracy that hates USA to think about any assurances and guarantees?
Another questions is how Iran will respond now that they are in a war with USA, and for sure they can inflict much damage. Ukraine have shown that a relatively smaller state can stand against a much bigger one and inflict some surprising damage as well, like the recent drone attacks on Russian strategic bombers several places very long away from Ukraine. Will Iran attempt something similar to hide drones in containers, like the Ukrainians did, to attack US mainland?
Then there are US domestic politics as well with Trump campaigning on not getting into another war. So now that USA is in another war in the Middle East, but perhaps Trump will use the euphemism from his pal Putin: Special Operation. I'm not so sure that people will buy that, even the MAGA base.
