The funny/sad thing is the Trump's second term is turning into being dumber than his first term.
You sound surprised. He's had 4 years to think about things while Biden was prez. How gullable can the US public be to vote Hitler back in again.

A long time ago In a galaxy far, far away both parties (for the most part) favored MFN for China:

>>>Support from Gingrich

House Speaker Newt Gingrich welcomed Clinton's recommendation for renewing MFN status for China, and vowed to work in a bipartisan manner to ensure that China receives it from Congress. . . .

The lawmakers told Clinton, "We welcome the determination you made today to recommend the renewal of MFN trade status for China, and we pledge to work with you in a bipartisan manner to preserve our longstanding policy of commercial and diplomatic engagement with the Chinese.<<<

At the time, China was opening up, allowing a range of freedoms, seemed potentially on the cusp of a progressive/liberal transformation.

Once Xi Jinping got into power, he slammed that door shut, and went back to authoritarianism - purged all the proponents of liberalism....

There was good reasoning behind the rapprochement with China.... but it came to naught - and by 2016, Xi's approach was pretty damn clear!

According to NPR, the White House is Looking for a Hegseth's replacement.

>>>The White House has begun the process of looking for a new leader at the Pentagon to replace Pete Hegseth, according to a U.S. official who was not authorized to speak publicly. This comes as Hegseth is again mired in controversy over sharing military operational details in a group chat.<<<

I realize "not authorized to speak publicly" stories are often not reliable, but I suspect this is a legitimate source.
Hmm it was DW or PBS can't remember who said others below Hegseth are getting the axe. Maybe someone else can chime in on the validity.
