A long time ago In a galaxy far, far away both parties (for the most part) favored MFN for China:

>>>Support from Gingrich

House Speaker Newt Gingrich welcomed Clinton's recommendation for renewing MFN status for China, and vowed to work in a bipartisan manner to ensure that China receives it from Congress. . . .

The lawmakers told Clinton, "We welcome the determination you made today to recommend the renewal of MFN trade status for China, and we pledge to work with you in a bipartisan manner to preserve our longstanding policy of commercial and diplomatic engagement with the Chinese.<<<

Enough to keep this farce going, at least seems if a majority don't they are pretty quiet. Too many in any case.
Will just rewrite history as if Trump never existed.....yep, that's about accurate. :)

An important tool of authoritarians is to instil fear and here we have Republican Senator Murkowski saying that Republicans fear Trump retaliation and thus not speak up. Not too much moral courage there, is it? More than most Republicans in Congress, I think.

With Trump's anti-democratic actions and Republican fears, it looks like the Republican party is nearing its end in 4 years at the latest. Of course, with his behavior and damage that he is doing, he will not be reelected in 4 years, and the country should hopefully become democratic again.

Can we survive four years? Can the country?
