I haven't posted on this site for several years but have immensely enjoyed and educated myself reading many of the posts and threads by several of you as well as the numerous informative Audioholics test reports. This is a great site and I feel like I know several of you just from reading your posts.

If I sound like a scattered novice here it's likely because I am and therefore would appreciate any of your thoughts/comments/ recommendations. Here's my situation: My basement home theater/multi-use room is 22 feet long, 18 feet wide and 7.5 feet high, carpeted with insulated drywall. My house was pre-wired with 12 gauge wire in-wall for a 7.1 system when built in 2005.

I am thinking of replacing my set of four Mirage OMNI 550 towers, C 100 center and two Omni 150 surrounds and install them elewhere in my house or perhaps sell them. I also have a Mirage S10 sub and was thinking of using it with a new system if possible. I like the Mirages' spacious sound but they don't seem to have the midrange detail compared to the Energy RC series or Def. Tech in-walls I have recently heard.

I currently have a B&K AVR 507 7 channel receiver rated at 150 WPC and hope that will be sufficient quality and power for my speakers. I also use a 2003 Mitsubishi Diamond Series 65 inch RPTV (yes I know it's now it's ancient by today's standards and will replace it someday) and a Sony ES 5 disc CD changer/recorder that is no longer produced by Sony. I use the system for: 65 % music and 35 % movies. Regarding speakers, I am considering the following vastly different alternatives:

1. Energy RC 70 front, Rclcr -center, RCR-surrounds and either another set of RC 70s or RC 10s for the rear; or,
2. Aperion 633T 7.1 system-perhaps using four towers; or
3. TSC TST2 system using four of the towers and then their surrounds and center; or
4. In-Walls from Definitive Technology, Sonance, Martin-Logan or Totem.

Any comments on the quality and bang for buck of these or other brands/models you recommend are greatly appreciated. I especially keep waffling between external speaker systems or the in-walls and don't see many posts about in-walls here. At the end of the day I'm leaning towards the Energy system but value your input. Thanks for helping this oldie but newbie. Sorry for the length of this post!

Oops-forgot to mention in my original post that I am also considering the Swan Diva 6.1 7.1 system and that my budget is $2500 max.
