Older B&W's vs Energy C-500's

Hey guys, first post. Great site!

Im building a 5.1 system. Ive settled on buying the Energy C-50's for rear surrounds, C-C100 center, and the ESW-10 sub.

Now, I have a set of B&W DM640i towers. They are going on 15 years old. I think they sound pretty good, as usual for B&W. However, they are currently at my local B&W dealer awaiting 4 new drivers. The speakers were stored in a non-climate controlled building here in Colorado for many years. The B&W guy said the 100 degree swing in temps caused the surrounds/cones/voice coils to sag and rub on the magnets. Its only a $120 repair, pretty cheap considering. The B&W dealer is also turning the rest of the drivers 180* to counter-act any sag that may have taken place with them. (The whole thing sounds odd and questionable to me... anybody ever heard of sagging???)

Im not sure if i should run these B&W's (given their history) or get a pair of C-500 to match the rest of my system. Would the C-500's be a big step down? How important is timbre matching when were talking about good speakers?

Fact of the matter is, the B&W's are a superior speaker (in perfect condition). The bass and mid-range on these units is nothing short of stellar.

I hear the Energys are very good units and deliver good sound on a budget.
Im torn on which way to go...
I could easily sell the B&W's and pay in-full for the C-500's.

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!
