hello people! got a pionner elite sc35 (2010) does not support all the new formats like atmos dts x etc... can hook up 9ch. My question is can i get myself a new preamp and use my receiver as a amp or better not.

Yes, you can use the SC35 as a power amp.
1) Connect the analog outputs from the new preamp into the SC35's Multi-Channel inputs (MULTI CH IN) shown here.

2) Set SC35 mode to Pure Direct (i.e. none/least signal processing).
3) Set SC35 volume to Zero dB (that is a high volume setting); sound volume will be controlled by the preamp.
4) If you have a programmable remote (i.e. Harmony or equivalent), program it to turn on both the preamp and SC35 as a system.
I used such a set-up to leverage a beefy amp section of an older Yamaha AVR to reduce the surround load on a newer AVR that had the newest modes and codes.

Pre-pros tend to be more expensive than avrs, though, so instead perhaps another avr (or just get an appropriate avr)....

thanks guys, i think that for the difference in price (around +400) the complete avr 11.2 ch will be the best way to go. Anthem mrx1120 it is :)
