old sub upgrade?

I have a non-powered old sub (15yrs old) that has a sealed enclosure with a 12" driver. It doesn't really have much bass at all. I'm wondering if it would be worth sticking in a plate amp and replacing the driver or is there more to it than that.

Do you have pictures of the enclosure? Is it well made, braced? What are the enclosure's internal dimensions? We can help you out more from there.
