If you love your gear welcome to the club!

Nice part about speakers they don’t know what your feeding them with. They have no mind of their own;)

What’s your goal?

So.....what do you want to do? I’d start by removing the surround speakers from the L/R speakers and installing them where they go.

What is the brand name of those speakers -- and do you really want to keep them?

And as posted -- move the surrounds to the proper position

Maybe the surround speakers were supposed to be height speakers in this setup?

I’ll get you model # of receiver it’s a pro logic 1 unit the rears only add some ambience . I’m trying to find way to move them back .
It doesn’t not have working Dolby’s digital as it requires an analog 5.1 ch output with 6 cables .

I use Tapatalk for iPhone almost always. Just click the mountain icon when posting and it will bring you to your library and just pick your photo and it asks what size you want. Pick and done. Sooo fast.

ITs prologic 1 ancient technology and I cannot find a way to Walmart these speakers . It says Photos are too big when takin from iPhone .
This receiver is beyond obsolete had no atmos or height channels . Dolby digital won’t work no coaxial and only 5.1 analog output cis

Depends on the brand. Here’s an example if you read their relationship to Denon,

Accessories4less is a factory authorized reseller for Denon Factory refurbished products. Remember all refurbished products include a 1 year factory warranty, all original accessories, and a 30 day DOA prepaid defective exchange (should it be required).

Go into you Receiver settings to check your level on the centre channel. Usually if one calibrated each speaker the centre gain may be slightly louder for dialogue say 3 db

Kinda like a medium bedroom size.

Well I’d reset all factory settings in your receiver to start. Should be something in the menu. If you can view the receiver menu in your display that will dramatically simplify the process!

Once that is open make sure the receiver knows what speaker channels are connected.

Set everything to flat; no bass, treble or channel volume gain.

If you have smart phone download AudioTools App. This app will be a decent a start to setup your volume for each channel at your main seat!

Read up on how to set max volume known as reference level(look for owners manual online if you have lost original). Could use 0 as max in your receiver or absolute scale 0-99.

Set speaker distances relative to main seat first and boost or trim channels second!

Helps to use a equal lateral triangle as a good stating point where the point of the triangle peak is about 1 foot behind your head.

In geometry, an equilateral triangle is a triangle in which all three sides are equal. In the familiar Euclidean geometry, an equilateral triangle is also equiangular; that is, all three internal angles are also congruent to each other and are each 60°.

How can you mount these surrounds??
Prologic - 1 is a mono channel they don’t really do much
Equalizer goes max -6!or +6 so 12 decibel eq??

You could build a couple small shelves for them to sit on. Just use pad underneath them to eliminate vibrations.

Unfortunately your receiver being PL-i
Your going to have to go with the flow until you can upgrade. One level setting will cover both speakers.

Yeah man, I hope for your sake you can pin down that new job. PL1 is, as you know mono, and basically ambiance. Normally, a good upgrade path is to put decent speakers on the entry level AVR, then upgrade the AVR later. But in this case I feel the opposite. While your speakers could certainly stand to be upgraded, I think(and you too?) the AVR is the bottleneck. If you can, I think you should find a decent AVR, and focus on speaker placement and setup. A4L as linked is a great place to get a nice current AVR on a budget.
Can you post a pic of the back of the surrounds? A shelf would be easy, but if they have keyhole slots, that’s even easier.
