Old MTX speaker repair worth it?

Hi, I have a pair of 8" mtx speakers with decayed speaker foam and am wondering if the speakers are any good (and thus worth fixing). I couldn't find any info on them online as there isn't really a model number that I could make sense of and numbers didn't turn up anything. On the box, it says "MTX Digital Loudspeaker" On the speakers, it says they're 4 ohm. Numbers on speaker are 8kB829 and 91 9150. Says SCF 225 on cone. Box is about 18"x10"x4".

Just wondering if I should repair the foam--¿8" Infinity speaker repair kit for $25? or if I should put a different 8" speaker in the box... Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I don't know much. :) Any suggestions appreciated. Cheers!

Here are some pictures of the speakers.

Refoam the MTX speakers. Speaker systems are designed for a specific bass driver in a specific cabinet. They work as a team.

If you switch out the bass driver you destroy that synergy.

Besides, it's cheaper to get 'em refoamed.
