---------------------------------------------- wow that turned out bad, it looks right in the edit box :)
it's probably, well, here's a floor plan on the internet i guess: http://www.rentcip.com/FountainGlen/floorplans2.asp#996
it's the bottom one, inverted, anywho, i have two subs, a 175 watt in the av cabinet, and a 350 watt in the corner, currently i have my rears behind my recliner and loveseat, pointing up, the recliner and loveseat are at angles, now, can or should i point my surrounds on the right and left walls, maybe pointed slightly at the wall behind the seating to reflect the sound, since i have like no room between the seating and the back wall? i have pretty cheap yamaha bookshelf surrounds and an rx-v2500, any suggestions? i'll move anything but the tv and av cabinet

The surrounds would ideally be placed directly to your sides (pointing at each other) and a few feet above ear level. I can't tell if you have walls on each side of the seating area to place them there.

If you don't and you currently have the surrounds mounted on the wall behind you, then you have to experiment a bit to see what works. Instead of pointing straight up, you might also try pointing them forward so the sound is firing over your head. Angling the surrounds so that they fire towards opposite walls could work well too.
