OK, so here it is. I realllllly like the sound of the PB12-ISD/V. I heard it set at, well stock setting, 20Hz and it was amazing. Anywho, is there any sub out there that can out perform this thing for under 700 bucks or is this thing king. The only question I had, since I would just leave it at 20Hz, would the PB12-ISD be better since it is pre-tuned for 20 Hz and looks to have 5 or so more dB on the low end anyway.....? SVS guys, feel free to chime in

i've never heard any SVS subwoofer so I cannot comment on what will outperform it. but if the low freq. extension rating is true, you will be hard pressed to find something to beat it at that price point.

I haven't heard the 12V...but you may want to ask about the new Hsu VTF-HO. Hundred bucks more, 500W, 16-18Hz..............

I haven't heard the PB12 but I own the PB10 and it is bad... Goes very low... I cannot imagine a better sub for the money...

I own a SVS PC Ultra, it's a great sub.

SV doesn't lie about their response, it's +/- 5 IN ROOM (with PEQ to take out an evil room mode from 40-50) from 20 hz - 80 hz. (Calibrated rat-shack meter and it sounds nice and balanced too.)

In my case Box vs Cyl was space dependent. I had 18"x18" in a few places with unlimited ceiling. A box sub couldn't have been repositioned so if it didn't sound great in one spot it would have been stuck there.

I'll bet you could beat it, or any retail sub by going DIY. It depends on whether or not you are willing, able, or have the tools to do the work yourself, however.

I know I will never go back to retail.

I would take the V over the standard ISD. But I'd also seriously consider saving up for the PB12 Plus/2. If you have the room, it's that much better than the V. IMO, it's their best bang for the buck - but its HUGE.

Yeah, I saw that and it is massive, which makes me want it...haha. I would like to build my own, but I am out of date on whats what of drivers and box designs. Last time I made one was about 10 years ago... I like the idea of something someding great as well as looking the part too...

I think hes decided on the PB-12ISD/V from what he told me. (not trying to speak for him but this is what I heard)

In case you're worried about buyer's remorse, I've heard that the PB12+ is a marked improvement over the ISD version. In case you decide to go way over budget

Are you being serious? If so, then I am so glad I bought my sub from you guys. I think is awesome that you take the time to help out with questions. Me personally, I am saving for another PB10 - FOR ME, 2 PB10's would be better than 1 12 ULTRA... FOR ME...

Yes, completely serious. We can't spend too many hours on each design of course...but we are happy to look at various driver t/s parameters, import them into one of our dedicated LEAP computers...and offer a few suggestions..

Oh, and a minor point of correction---we don't offer any raw drivers, enclosures , or amps. Anything like that on the website is only for warranty replacement purposes.

I think for the time being, I am going to make a box with twin 400watt rms DAYTON TIT320C-4 12" TITANIC MKIII SUBWOOFER and a DAYTON HPSA1000 1000W SUBWOOFER AMPLIFIER. The box will be huge but I think it would be a fun project to build and see how it works. Now figuring out port area/length baffling...etc...haha
