Has anyone audition the microwalsh smalls. If so do you think they can be used as front main speakers . Room is 18x14 thanks

I wrote Ohm about these.

The owner/president of the company reccommended the talls as mains and the smalls as rears and center.

He said soundstage would be too low with the smalls.

I would like to hear peoples opinions of these as well, one day I want to have an all tube HT and use these speakers all around each mated with X-subs.

Thats too bad about the soundstage the speakers would have fit in perfect for my needs. Thanks

My only experience is with the older Ohm F models. They relish good clean power....more the better to a point. With the larger Walsh drivers, a sub is unnecessary for most all music applications and though HT wasn't in vogue at that time, I can see that there would be very few movies that would require the greater impact of a sub. Being omni-directional, they do require open space. These aren't speakers to be tucked in a corner. In the right enviroment, they're pretty hard to beat (especially for the price) from the lows all they way through the range to the highest highs.

Mort (who would love to own a pair for music with a nice old tube Mac amp)

I'd love to hear some recent opinions as well. I plan to pick up a pair of Talls to complete a small budget 2 channel setup (augmented with a HSU sub). I've heard a lot of good things and plan on ordering a pair in the next couple of months.

Cant wait to hear your opinions on them.

There is a 6 moons review on them. Basically said for the money you cannot beat the soundstage but they arent the be-all end all of clarity, but do an awesome job at the price.

Can ya tell I researched 'em a bit?

billnchristy,

I too have done as much research as I possibly can. I was actually debating between these and some AV123 speakers. I use my system in the living room and there is more background listening than critical listening going on. However, the system is on all the time when I am at home (from lower to moderate levels) and I want good quality sound ;). Especially useful to me would be the wide sweet spot I've been reading about. That feature is what is really pushing me towards them.

Well, they have an awesome return policy so it would be no damage done to check them out, I also like the fact that they will customize within their ability.
