Well, after having the big NHT's in my office for a couple of weeks, I just couldn't live with the Dell speakers anymore.

These pups came in the mail today. So far they seem favorable. Build quality seems top notch and so far the sound is pretty good. I will comment more after living with them for awhile.

Please excuse the wiring, I just slapped them together.

If you had been good enough to mention what make and model they were I wouldn't have to display my audio ignorance for the whole world to see. Thanks. :D

Those Audioengine A5's? Look nice! Debating between A2's and Behringer 2030P's. Aware of the sound differences, just working out spacing. Suffered with Logitech V20's long enough!

The bright gray rings around the tweeter and woofer is really a dark gray that matches the black really well. I guess the flash washed them out. They actually look pretty nice.

After just a short listening time, they seem good at low to mod levels (pretty flat) but break apart at high volumes. The bass seems overpowering at this point but I think it is more a boundary effect from my desk. I will continue to jack around with placement and may get some Mopads under them.

Hey you copied my speakers... That's it I'm getting a pool!:D

Greg, I think you'll like them.
I used four rubber door stops under the front to angle them up a little. Just a thought.
Enjoy!

Thanks, I didn't know you had them. I really wanted to try the A2's but figured they were too small to make me happy. I'm not used to near-field speakers so that may be part of the 'issue' I hear with them.

I just called my pool builder and he is willing to head your way for an extra 100k.

Hey Greg cool addition to the office. It took me a couple of weeks to get "used" to using near field monitors but now I think I may even prefer it.

What did you do with the NHT's?

Wow the Mopads came into today and they made a big improvement. Bass is way thighter and I am enjoying these little speakers now.

I just Googled 'thight' ... interesting. :)

It probably has something to do with your desk now being less of a bass source.

Kinda neat to have that drilled into my head yet again. :D

They look like rebadged Audioengine speakers. Hope they work out for you.

 Saw that you ordered them from Dell and figured they just slapped their badge on them.
