Saw this last night. Great performances by the main cast members, especially Crowe. The warning to viewers could not be more clear. Nazi leadership was not exclusively made up of utter psychopaths - most were rather ordinary. The banality of evil, as the saying goes. I think we can all envision some politicians who, under the "right" circumstances, would blithely turn into murderous monsters if it served their purpose.

A timely movie. This should be a must watch for the military. Following orders doesn't give you a get out of jail card.
Hoping for presidential amnesty is not the answer.

"Judgement at Nuremberg" with Spencer Tracy was a good one as well which dealt with the same subject. One I really liked on this subject was "Hannah Arendt."

Meanwhile, reminding military personnel that they are obligated to not carry out illegal orders is a death penalty offense...apparently.

I don't think the idiot ever said unlawful orders, just orders. If so, he cannot even quote the actual words in the commercial. Big difference between lawful and unlawful.
