Not to speak for him but yes, it is his AVR that doesnt have the 12v.

Too many posts and got lost.

So it is your receiver without the 12V trigger.
Yes, the transformer as suggested will indeed work from that switched outlet:D

Yep. My Pioneer has a lot of things, but no trigger. Hard to justify spending $900 on an Onkyo just to get that...but I might just find a way. ;)

Holy cow! Welcome to the conversation. ;) j/k

I actually went to the Pioneer website to pull the owners manual on the 1015TX and looked at the back of it to see that there is indeed a single switched (ungrounded) power outlet on the back. It's rated for like .8 amps - very low power, ideal for plugging in a 12v power supply or for plugging in the A/C cord that runs to power conditioners like those that Belkin, Monster, or other companies make.

Hee, hee...giggle, giggle. I finally got the trigger hooked up, and I feel like a little school girl. It's awesome! Turn the receiver on, RPA-1 turns on. Turn the receiver off, RPA-1 turns off. Yes, I enjoy the little things in life.

Probably no certified electrician would give this thing the thumbs up, but it's working. I've got two three-to-two prong adapters daisy-chained and plugged into my receiver's switched outlet and a transformer from K-mart that I haven't used for probably over 20 years plugged into the adapters. The wire on the transformer had been spliced and taped back together at some point when I was a kid. I needed the adapters because the transformer wouldn't fit if it was flush against the receiver.

To think that my Mom wanted me to throw stuff like that transformer away because I would "never use it again." :)
