Somewhat rrue.

Better get it all out of your system now:D! If there's one sure thing in life, most people live for their kids or a least untill they move the heck out.:p
We lived for the three boys. Now that they're out and on their own we live for our five grandkids. At last we can give 'em back once we get 'em all sugared up. :D

One of the things that caught my eye is that the guy is an "unemployed cashier." Isn't that the same as just "unemployed." Is "cashier" really a career path?

Good post.

Every job needs to be done. Not everybody can be a "professional".
Everyone should be able to feel a sense of pride in their work, no matter how trivial it may seem.

This type of attitude will help everyone, no matter what they do, feel they are contributing something of value to society, and they are.

I always try to pe plesant and upbeat when dealing with these people. It's a rare cashier that doesn't respond positively to this.

It's when people "talk down" to cashiers and the like that they slowly turn to the dark side and become surly. Sometimes, just being nice can drag them right back up from the depths.

Yes, yes. I agree. I don't "talk down" or "look down" on people (for their job, their religion, whatever). I just didn't realize that people list "cashier" as a profession when they aren't working. That's all. I stand corrected.

Its funny because my 3 kids are still relatively young , with the oldest just starting college:). However, there are days where I can't wait for them to fly the coop, but in the end I'll miss them:). As for getting ready and enjoying the grandchildren, I wouldn't have it any other way:D.

I try to always smile to anybody i meet or have to deal with be it a cashier or a salesman. But i admit, i laughed (not too loud) whenever i pass a BB salesman trying to sell some of their "best" audio gear to a customer.

I have to admit, my retirement is medical, I'm only 42.

Counterstrike! Now, that's a fun online game. Unfortunately for me, I sucked at it when I played, but I'm sure that I made good fodder for the other players.
