Don't get too excited about that acoustic shield. That's just meant to keep your embarrassing vocals from radiating outside the car when the radio plays "Bohemian Rhapsody" and you only remember like half the words but you belt it out anyway. Re: damping reflections, you could always deploy the airbags. This is especially true if your car comes equipped with side curtain airbags. Tames those reflections right up.
