If I wanted to add some type of speaker to my TV for enhanced sound should I think of a center speaker or soundbar?

If a TV is the only thing in the picture, then you want a soundbar.

Perhaps a pair of active speakers as an alternative, otherwise I'd go with a sound bar. Just having a mono center speaker, no.

Yeah he would need an avr , wonder what soundbar he’s getting!!!!!!!????
