Noob needs help choosing between 2 systems!!

OK - heres the scoop:

room = 2000 cu. (14x18x8), open to hallway & dining room

budget = flexible

purpose = movies only

local options:
- MA Silver series: 5i fronts, 3i rears, 10i center for $450
- Infinity Reference series: 2000.6 fronts, 2000.3 rears, CC-3 center for $320

This is all new to me, and not sure what the best option is. I want quality for cheap like everyone else.

Suggestions??!

I can't speak for the Infinities but I like my Monitor Audios a lot. Very detailed. The models you mentioned are somewhat older versions but you would expect that at that price point. Your probably ok with either choice although they will be different, better or worse is a matter of taste.

I'd go for the Monitor Audio's myself as I like their sound over Infinity.

Definitely Monitor Audio over the Infinity Reference series. While the Reference series are good speakers, they aren't fantastic. I also think they are hideously ugly.
