Hey guys im for sure a nooB when it comes to anything home audio so im looking for help on some things please!!

first off let me start by telling you what was givin to me by a friend from her brother passing away, some of this stuff may be old but it was only used for about a month. and i know the dvd players are a thing of the past just giving a full list of what i got.

LIST:
Denon AVR-4306 Receiver
Panamax-M5100-EX Power Conditioner
Samsung-BDP1500 Blu-Ray player (says she couldn't get to work)
(here is a few other items she gave me as well but i know also older)
Phillips-DVDR3455H\37 (DVD Player/DVR/Burner)
Pioneer-Dv260-S DVD player

so my question is What speakers should i get? Im not looking to blast the paint of the walls or make the lights fall from the ceilings....and what i mean is im not looking to go dump 1500 into speakers alone (atleast not right now)
i know this thing is 7.1 and capable of having 10 speakers but i am just looking for maybe 5.1 for now but without killing the bank.... mostly for movies and TV watching.. i do like bass and mids and lows...... any help??? is this good equipment ??(not including dvd players lol)

That is a very nice friend and you got some nice stuff. If that receiver is working well, it should last you a while. I highly suggest reading some of the recent threads on here of people with a $1500 budget and see what we have recommended. Since you have the receiver and other equipment, you could spend $1200 and get an EXCELLENT 5.1 setup.

Also, give us an exact figure you want to spend, and we'll recommend a system at 120% of that budget :)

The DVD stuff is mostly obsolete and you might want to keep the pioneer around only if it plays SA-CD and Samsung doesn't for some reason...

The best piece yet (by far) is the Denon AVR-4306 Receiver - and thou the model is slightly outdated, it's still very solid.

Panamax-M5100-EX Power Conditioner - a keeper
Samsung-BDP1500 Blu-Ray player - if still functional - should be attempted to troubleshoot and to use.

First we must know your room size and your budget - (spending $1500 on ONE speaker alone is not unheard of and $1500 for all 5.1 is actually pretty much a budget system full of compromises. 7.1 for $1500 downright crap - which my first advice to you - forget about anything over 5.1 until you get much bigger budget - the extra channels are not that important anyhow

The second thing is we must know the size of room you intend to install the system and if it's open to other rooms

ok well great info so far right now im really low on budget i got lucky and fell into this great equipment i only wish i had the funding to give it the speakers it deserves........ but in this case i do not currently and would like to get something to at least get it working since all i use now is the speakers built into the 50 plasma (not that great lol) at the current moment i can probably only afford 400-600 total ( i know insulting for what the receiver is going to be capable of but its all i can spare at the moment....and the room size is roughly 15x20 or so and connects to a hall way on one wall and another wall has big open area that goes to kitchen and dining room. it will be a good while but i do plan on setting up a good budget to get the proper greatness in equipment but is there anything i can get now to get me by?

well i was curious on those pioneer speakers because i saw them in this package deal from best buy(cant post link yet but its on their site here is the sku number 9999165100050018) but the RMS was 80 and from what i found on the receiver was like 130 per channel

I disagree with 4.0 system, I'd rather suggest 2.1
2x Infinity Primus P252 - $150/ ea
1x PA-150 Sub - 350/ shipped
-----------
$650 total

PA-120 (like mine) is budget is super tight.

Due to huge open space...

p.s: These pioneer are not bad speakers, but they would not be good choice for main speakers in room of your size, only for surround duty

and does that matter??
I think he doesn't know if it matters and is more asking.

Those speakers will be fine being driven by your Denon, you just want to take care not to blast them, especially for extended periods of time. I just ordered the same towers GranteedEV recommended and I am really looking forward to them. Hard to beat at that price.

yes i was asking about the RMS rating i am unsure on that kind of stuff didnt know if it would hurt the speakers or not i know my budget is insulting to the unit i have lol but i gota take what i can get at the moment i do like those speakers as well for the towers... they they only come in that color or is there options? and i guess i should say i dont HAVE to have 5.1 im looking to enhance past what the small TV speakers can do if it means i can only get 2 mains and a SWEET sub then so be it and expand on to the surround later i did see a nice one last time i was playing at Best Buy but again i know nothing haha so i like to ask questions and get the full scoop from people like yourself with knowledge of this kind of equipment. better than me going and buying bad ones then saying look what i got then say i shoulda done better haha

Holy run on sentence batman... Seriously though, the EMP towers come in back (what I ordered) and you could easily get a set of them plus:
HSU STF-1 Subwoofer

And have a great 2.1 system. Surrounds can come later.

Go 2.0 with the EMP towers for now. Buy once, buy for keeps.

Save and extend in this order, sub, center, sides, second sub, surround backs.

Could it? Maybe.
Will it? not likely, especially if you're using the pioneers only as surround speakers where they won't get much action.

just because an amp CAN do 100w doesn't mean that's what it's doing. most of the time 5w of input is what speakers are getting on a consistent basis. the spec itself is rather meaningless. more important is your responsible listening habits. if you hear the speaker or amp straining just turn it down - that applies for any speaker no matter the power rating.

i do like those speakers as well for the towers... they they only come in that color or is there options?
It's a clearance sale. The Red Burl finish pictured is sold out. Only the Black Ash is available. Either's pretty nice in my opinion, with the red looking a bit more elegant. There's a few pictures of the black e55tis here;

As for 4.0 vs 2.1..

I wouldn't want any of those subs. i'd rather save up and get better subs in the future.

I wouldn't mind the pioneers as surrounds, though.

PA-150 has been tested by audioholics and for $350 you will not find a better new subwoofer I guarantee you and I doubt even 2nd hand or even diy.

Now - can (much) more money give you a better sub - you can bet on it :D

Kirsch = White Van
White van speaker scam - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

How bad is White van stuff ? It's so bad I wouldn't take if I'll get paid to keep it

Proper brand is klipsch
Klipsch Icon-Home Audio-Klipsch

And no they (icon) crap next to EMP Teks.
Now, I'm not saying Klipsch makes all crap, not at all - they have very good Reference series, not to mention THX or Vintage models..
However the issue with most of them is they quite bright and could be fatiguing for long term, however this bright, in your face, sound could be indeed helpful in HT environment, but for most music - not so much
