Hi, I have a yamaha 5860 and the OSD (short display, not full display) will not show on the screen. I have component cables for my DVD and I also have the upconversion enabled. If I switch to any inputs (ie VCR 1, VCR 2, DTV) then the OSD display works, but if I switch to DVD, the OSD does not display. I have the gray screen on "AUTO" and component OSD to "ON". The weird thing is, with the upconversion, I don't need to change the input on the TV, and all the different inputs on the receiver works with the OSD except for DVD. Does anyone know what is wrong with this or how to fix it? I have tried 2 receivers so I don't think it's the receiver. Is this some limitation or am I doing something wrong?
