Hey guys - I'm driving myself mad trying to get DTS out of my Sony S300 Blu ray player. I've got HDMI going to the flat screen, and coax going to the Denon 4802R. I've yet to watch a Blu ray movie in DTS. All I ever get is Dolby Digital.

I've tried the 6 RCA cables to the Denon for lossless audio, and the separation is awesome, but there's very little tweakability which I live for.

Any ideas what's going on?

What titles?

The only company I can think of that is running DTS-HD is Fox, and decoding on the Blu-ray player may not be available.

So, do you have any movies with DTS on them yet like Seth asked? DTS-HD MA will still pass via optical, though you will only get a downmixed 5.1 version. The first one I tried was Kingdom of Heaven and wow, does it sound great.

Buck, are you talking DTS for DTS-HD? My HD player only shows DTS on my Denon 3805. I'm thinking of buying an S300 now that the prices have finally dropped. So I'll have both HD and BD.

The BDP-S300 is not capable of passing any of the next generation audio formats except DD+ and DTS HD downmixed. If the Blu-Ray disc you're trying to play has a DTS track then you should be able to hear it.

What happens when you select the DTS track while playing a disc? What does the receiver say?
