I've been looking for a pair a bookshelf sized speakers for my HT setup. I listen to as much music as movies, so I'd rather have the speakers be better at music than movies.
I listen to mostly acoustic music (classical, jazz, folk) so have a clear, detailed speaker is more important to me than a "hyped" speaker.

I had been considering Klitsch and B&W speakers, but today i went to a store that carried NHT speakers. I wasn't really aware of this company, so when the were carried at this high end AV store I was surprised.

Anyway, they had some NHT Classic Two setup, and they blew me away. Clear, clean and opened sound.

What do you guys think about these speakers, I don;t really know that much about them. They are $500/pair and it seems like a good deal.

Thanks.

Consider these from HSU. They were exceptional value for money

Thanks.
Here is my review of speakers on offer at the recent SOTU event at Orlando.

Thanks for the reply, but I'm not really interested in speakers that i can't hear in person.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the NHT speakers, since I had not. Like I said I was very impressed with them, especially on classical and jazz music.

I have not heard those particular NHT speakers, but I own NHT speakers and like them quite a bit. Mine are from about 10 years ago, and the models are listed in my signature.

I haven't heard them either, but I have heard from others that the Classic Two is kind of in an awkward position in the Classic lineup. They have larger siblings in the Classic Three which are significantly better for only a small increase in price ($650/pr now I believe).

bryanalban, you've pretty much hit the mark on what these speakers are about, IMO. Two things I'd add: they have good bass for a speaker their size; and since the Classics are sealed you get a little more placement flexibility.

If you can get the Three, which has gotten lots of positive reviews, you might consider that. But the Two is a very good speaker, especially at the reduced price, and outdoes the Zero for a two channel system IMO. (The Zero apparently works better as a surround, both because of the easier mounting size as well as the better dispersion with the smaller driver).

Some reviews in case you haven't seen them:

People say that, but never draw enough meaningful conclusions from it. IMO, if you have the space for it, yes, get the Three. If someone didn't (eg, they want to fit them on a desktop or in another space where the Three won't work), then the Two is still an excellent choice.

Thanks for the replies.

The Two's fit much better with my setup, the Three's would be a bit too big.

I did a comparison yesterday with the NHT Two's against a comparable speaker from Monitor Audio, and while they were both very good, I liked the sound of the NHT's better.
