Fair amount of negativity here. I don't get it. Marketing is a GOOD thing, so is advertising revenue.
The pricing strategy comments are somewhat valid, but that's a tricky call for any company with NHT's history. Inflation is a factor, but ask yourself, with the falling dollar, if other manufacturer's prices have stayed consistent, were THEY overpriced to begin with? And are they now willing to make up for less margin with an increase in volume? I guess we can all feel good about how pure our particular favorites are though, right? And frankly, there is very little I purchase that I pay full price for anymore. It's the way of the world these days.
The really great thing is that the audio world offers so many choices to fill so many different needs, to address different requirements, to satisfy different compromises. Name me one other hobby with such diverse, high quality options. NHT is part of this and has its niche. Maybe if they're a little more successful they'll find the capital to create something "better" to satisfy those enthusiasts who think they've slipped. Or, whatever...
And yeah, I really like my Classic Threes. I admit my bias. But I've heard a lot of so-called "high end" speakers that left me flat. Makes me wonder why the Threes aren't getting more love. But that's just MY opinion. And like a lot of 'em, it's worth what you paid for it.
Peace.
