Nice system and welcome nezff!!

Didn't I read on the eD forum you were replacing the Klipsch? Have you decided with what?

Looks nice nezFF!:D

Is all your gear in the cabinet? How do you ventilate that Onkyo? As a previous owner of an 885 I can attest to how much heat they give off.

Also what do you use for control? Do you use URC, harmony or did you program one of your OEM remotes?

The cabinet is open in the back. The doors are open when watching a movie or playing games etc..

The 5508 doesnt get hot at all. It gets warm, but no where near what my other Onkyo AVRs did.

Thought about the eD(c)-12's? I'm picking up three with the upgraded tweeter.

Looks like it was well thought out and put together well. Only thing I could comment on is that I'd probably still bring the mains further out into the room, even with all the panels and where's the ceiling panel(s) :) Other than that, looks great!

You have a similar problem as me, both of my rooms that are good for HT have windows on the wall that is the best spot to set everything up.

well, the window wasnt going to be there. When the inspector came, he told me to put it in. Reason being that every bedroom needs a window in case of a fire. I told hime it wasnt going to be a bedroom, but he said it could be in the future. After it was in, I kinda liked it from the outside.

They told my parents the same thing when they built their house last year. They have a big walk in closet on the wall that faces the front of the house and they made them put a window in it, even though it isn't a "room" either. Inside it looks dumb, but outside it looks right. In your case that room is more like a loft or dormer or whatever they want to call it, so technically when selling it, it could be called a bedroom rather than a den, which is better for your resale value AFAIK.

Well, dont get me wrong, the window was in the plans and I wanted it at first. It kinda looked dumb outside on that tall gable without it.

My initial plans were to build a false wall about 2-4 foot in fron of the window and house all my gear in there out of site.

Stairs. (cute)
More stairs.. (oookkkaaayyyy)
More stairs & door... (you kiddin' me, this better be good)
Boom.... (WHOA!!! Niicccee kit!)

Sweet setup man! If you move the Center to a shelf above the TV, it will visually obscure the window for the most part... Or, you could just go front projection and cover it up with a fixed screen :D.

Hello Nezff, very nice setup. Yours looks very close to mine. Being that the ceiling is vaulted I am assuming this room is on the second floor. You can access the flat area of the ceiling from you attic access and follow the trunk that is used to provide air to that ceiling register at the end of the room to get HDMI and Power to a PJ. Its the only way to fly! There usually is also a way to get at the space behind those four foot knee walls for wiring. Count yourself lucky rooms like this are supper easy to add extra wiring in.

Looks great! Nice and clean and simple! I've never really known what to do with rooms like that and it's thrown a few houses out of our search. Now I know what to do, absolutely beautiful
