Newbie wiring question

When I wire in the wall should I get a faceplate for where the wire enters and exits the wall? Whats the cleanest and best looking way to do that?
I definitely recommend wall plates. They give a finished look, and they make it easier to make connections.

Once you get the hole cut in the wall and a frame in place (I used ones like this - you just pick the size that you want), you can select any number of wall plates. Two examples are plates with binding posts for speaker wires and plates with open holes to let you pass any type of wire that you want. There are also plates with RCA connections, HDMI connections, and others. I bought mine at Parts Express back in 2008, but now Monoprice carries them - and I think that they are the same product. You can get them at a number of places. Several of us have shopped for and installed them, so we can help you out when you're ready.

Are those fittings for banana plugs?

For only $2.81 each when QTY 50+ purchased - High Quality Banana Binding Post Two-Piece Inset Wall Plate for 2 Speakers - Coupler Type | Banana Binding Post Wall Plates

If I were to get that wall plate I could use banana connecters to connect 2 speakers. Is that right? I'm assuming the banana connectors can also connect to the back of my speakers.
Yep, if you get that wall plate, you can connect two speakers (or bi-wire/bi-amp one speaker). You might have seen that they sell several configurations, like this one (shown below) that allows connection to five speakers.

Some speakers allow banana connectors, and some don't - so check. If you have any questions, let us know. Also, the type of connection that you make at the wall is independent of the type of connection that you use to your receiver or to your speakers. For example, up until about a month ago, I used banana connectors at my receiver and speakers, but bare wire at those wall plates.
