Hello All,

I am putting together my system. I have a Onkyo NR709 receiver with Infinity P363 towers coming hopefully (backordered) and PC351 center with P163 bookshelfs and I am looking for a sub to go with it to fill my 24x14 room. I am looking used because I have already went over budget. I am looking at trying to find a used Outlaw LFM-1 or Rythmic FV12 or HSU sub for around $250-$300 hopefully. Is there any questions I need to be asking about these being that they are used, any problematic things with used subs I should be looking for before purchasing. Thanks all in advance for your input.

I think that your biggest problem will be that good subwoofers tend to hold their value. Good luck, it looks to be a great system.

Another member is putting together a new system & looking to get the same Infinity speaker set. EXCELLENT speakers for the price. My guess is for the money you cant do better. So good for you on those!!

A subwoofer if not abused will last you many years. If you find a used sub near you then your best test is to listen to it. Play it loud & set close to it to make sure its not distorting, popping or that the amp isnt getting real hot or humming.

Otherwise like mentioned, you may not be saving a whole lot by going used with these brands. Brand new they are already a great deal. You may find a good used deal im not saying its impossible. Since your speakers are on backorder at least you have some time to look around. Try Audiogon.com & the usual other sites. If you cant find a good deal inthe end the. Try to save up a bit more & go new. Your new speakers can at least get you by without a sub for a while. Wont be the same but wont be horrible.

I'll keep my eye out for any deals & PM you if i find one!!!
