Hi all,
I just purchased Panasonic SE-DIR800C wireless headphones. My partner complains that I play my DVDs too loud at night (image that!) and in order to discontinue the negative remarks and glaring looks, I thought this might be a good compromise.
I figured hookup would be a snap, but I just can't figure out proper connections for my purposes. Specifically, the headphone base unit has three inputs: two are digital (coax and optical) and one is analog. I want to use the headphones for listening to my DVD player and DVR/cable box using the optical out connection, which I believe would provide the best sound. Both the DVR and DVD have one optical output, and that is connected to my receiver, which is a Denon AVR 3805.
I currently have the DVD connected to the headphone base via the digital coax cable input. The DVR has no open jacks of any kind. What I'd like to do is connect to both units via a single digital optical cable.
The Denon has plenty of unused optical jacks in the back (opt 3, 4, etc.). Is there a way to assign one of these to the headphone base so that I may utilize it like a wired unit (plug it in the headphone jack and each component automatically assigns audio to the headphone)?
Alternatively, I suppose I can find a way to split the optical cable input line from the headphone base and then split each component unit output to connect for a total of 6 or more cable and splitters, but that seems way to convoluted, even for me.
Is there an easy way to do this? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated...and would lessen the late-nite "discussions"....
