I picked up a used pair of Athena AS-F2's for $400 CAD to compliment my AS-C1 and AS-B2's. (Getting rid of my four S.5 surrounds).

Does anyone have any experience with the 6-1/2" AS-C1 center and the 8" AS-F2's together? Do they overpower the center channel?

Speaker setup

You will probably have to bump up the center channel a few dB to match the level of mains. The center, with the smaller woofers will not play as low as your mains, but that is what the bass management and crossover settings on your receiver are for.

Wow, gave them a test run last night. I watched Gladiator in DTS and listened to a bit of music in Stereo mode... They are noticeably brighter than the B2's, especially at higher volumes (I don't know if that's because of my receiver or if its the speakers themselves). The screeching metal-on-metal sound during some of the fights in Gladiator were almost painful to listen to, though the bass was pretty impressive when I set them to "Large" in the receiver.

Any recommendations on a 'warmer' receiver to power my system? Boxing day is coming up soon... :D
