Ok Guys, I have read alot of posts for a few weeks and you guys seem really up on things....OK I really need some advice before I make a plunge. I just bough a Denon AVR 3805. I am looking a a pair of floor standing speakers, at first. I will be the first to admit that I dont know crap about audio components and speakers. I am putting the system in a room that is about 18' x 23', with a high ceiling. I am an old rock-n-roller with one foot in the grave, so I like it loud but clear so I can hear the additions of vocals in the background, like on some of the Doors tunes or the slight "triangle" sounds of Pink Floyd's Shine On You Crazy Diamond and also the quick switch crispness of Frank Zappa....Now I know that Klipsch is in our face, and B&W or Paradigm is a little more refined but I want to hear the crisp, detailed switch of instruments and vocals but on a louder scale.....what is the thought? I listen to more music than video but, I also would like to add a little later, a center channel and some sides and if needed a base woof. I am looking between 800.00 - 1200.00 for the floorstanders.

Ok, thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it. I will try and get out and listen to both sets this weekend.
I was always under the impression that Infinity really were'nt that good? I was told by a friend at work that the Infinity Crescendo (I believe) C3009 were great speakers.

The Crescendo series was a real good line - The Primus is good -
however, not in the same league as the Crescendo's.

Wow!!! Thanks all, I appreciate the feedback. A little overwhelming but I am glad I have a few more ideas. I guess I will take a few different CD's with me to hear differences.

The PSB Image T-6 run around $1200 and get great reviews around the web. So do the KEF Q900 and they are available for $560 each at accessories4less (these are open box speakers).
