i am going to buy the Pioneer VSX-1021 but i am unsure what speakers would be good. could someone suggest speakers that would work with this receiver. What are some of your set ups how do they sound? Got pics....

Id like to use the system for quality surround sound as well as a really good system for listening to music. i am not sure of my price point yet maybe $500-$600 please send some suggestions.

my living room is about 14x21 ft give or take. if possible wireless rear speakers ? but how are they powered ... batteries ? do they suck ?

About the best that you get for close to that budget that have any chance of filling a room that size are 5x Infinity P153 speakers that are on sale for $50ea at Newegg this weekend, plus an Elemental Designs A2-300 subwoofer. That's a total of $665 including shipping.

My advice however is to start with a decent 2.1 system and add the other bits later. Start with two P163 bookshelves which will perform better in that room and the eD subwoofer linked above. Then when you have more money add a PC251 center and a pair of P153 as surrounds.

Another good option would be to build a good 3.0 system using a pair of P362 and a PC350 center. Later when you have more money add the same sub and surrounds.

If you can double your budget I'd go with the P362/PC350/P153 plus a Rythmik FV12 for a thoroughly butt kicking moderately priced 5.1 system.

Id be willing to spend under a grand if i have to
Then for a room that size a I'd go with the P362/PC350/eD A2-300 3.1 system for $1015 shipped.

If that's not doable then the P163/PC251/P153/Rythmik FV12 5.1 system for roughly $950 shipped. The Rythmik is a better sub than the entry level eD.

You can save on wiring and interconnects at monoprice.com.

So heres what i bought the vsx 1121 i got 2 p153. 1 a2-300 and 1 pc350 hopefully everything arrives quick ok so being as i didnt buy all he speakers now please let me know how i should wire

Obvious he pc350 goes center and the sub goes sub but the 2 p153 speakers where should i hook them up on rhe receiver hey are gonna be front i guess until i buy rears so they should go to
Front or surround or front height front wide ? These are he options on my receiver

So i figure i will put the PC350 in the center, and the P153 on either side of the center ? and place the sub next to the tv.

Then eventually will buy another pair of P153 and use those on the rear wall, take the existing pair of P153 and put those on left and right of front wall, and buy a pair of P362 to put on either side of the center..... ? What are your thoughts on this set up once complete ?

Excellent plan! The left and right front just connect to the two "front" connectors. "Front-wide" are ambiance speakers like the side surround and not many people use them.

Just an FYI the low price on the P362 are due to them being a discontinued model. If they run out the replacement is the P363 which goes on sale a couple of times a year. The differences are mainly cosmetic.

That sounds like an awesome setup!

I would keep an eye out for another Frye's sale. They occasionally have the 363's on sale for $100 each but they are in-store pickup only. That's how my intro to this wonderful world of home audio started...

$100 or $199? I've seen them on sale for $199 but no lower.

I forgot to answer this part. The left and right fronts should be about the same distance apart as you sit from them but at least 18-24" from side walls if possible. This article should answer your subwoofer placement question.
