Yes, mine has that transformer thing on the speaker. Your speaker is beefier than mine. It gets all of the above except not police band, also has push-button tuning like an old automobile radio. I am not plugging it in. It worked 20 years ago when My dad had it. That’s good enough for me.

Oh seriously? How do you break-in a speaker? I can tell you how to break in a new or newly rebuilt motorcycle engine, but not speakers!

I have a bamboo stick over the hallway so attached wires don't droop. Ha. One might think I am single. They'd be correct!View attachment 71907
Exiting straight through the wall to outside on the bamboo stick is my tv antenna cable to my air antenna which sits about 20 feet in the air. No cuts. One length from the antenna to the tv. Not to the wall jack.

Hoping he's joking... ;)

Most of us will say it's your ears that are getting used to the Speakers. But there is a group of folk that insist that Speakers change over 100-500 hours of use... including audio companies... which is conveniently usually just outside the return policy!

You haven't seen the debate about breaking in speakers? That has been raging for many years, including here at AH.

That photo shows a cover over the magnet assembly, which isn't large because it's not a permanent magnet. It probably looks more like this, just larger-

You want to run the speaker under 5000 rpm for the first 1000 miles. Then you can take it to redline after you change the speaker oil. lol

I had never heard of such a thing. Didn't take long to see it is audiophoolery!
Just like any faith based belief you will have the zealots start a Jihad if you question it. Usually the very expensive speaker companies will suggest a break-in time so the speaker softens and smooths out it's sound. This is so you ignore your first impressions and ease into enjoying the sound and don't have buyers remorse over blowing huge wads of cash. The funniest are when people try to tell you that your speaker cables need break in time (for the same reasons). You know, those stranded lengths of pure copper with insulation. Somehow the molecular structure of the copper changes every minute that you pass light voltage through them (but miraculously stops once sonic nirvana has been achieved).

They probably also beleive that their engine might need new piston return springs. Possibly muffler bearings.

I said I sold all of my Klipsch gear. That was incorrect. I still have three 10" Klipsch subs. Those can stay! ha.
