Quite a long ways from being international...Just mentioned it for the benefit of those outside the continental USA, like me.

Nht

Anyone heard of NHT? I'm going to be looking at a set on NHT Zeroes, center, a 10" sub.

May Have Decided On Speakers

I've been looking at all sorts of speakers lately and I think I've decided to try out the SVS SBS system and upgrade to the PB12 NSD sub. I'll combine that set with my existing Rogers Sound Labs speakers for the mains (They still sound great) for now, and upgrade to some AV123 Rockets.

However, I'm not sure if I should go with the 450's, 760's or 850's. My media room is 22' long x 13' wide x 8' high. I'm assuming any of those speakers for mains should be able to throw sound around the room pretty well.

Again, I listen to a combination of music and home theater (about 50/50) and my musical tastes are pretty eclectic.

Any additional thoughts about this?
Thanks

So very true fred. Need I mention that it only gets more expensive from this point forward..........LOL!!!! :p:p My boss, calls it a "sickness". I call it a passion myself.

Since you’ll be using a good sub, the Rocket 450s are all that’s necessary. For the same price and subjectively better performance:D, you may want to consider the AV123 MFW-15:cool: sub as well.

New Speakers

Maybe I'll just go with the 450's, MFW sub and 200 center channel, and use my old bookshelf speakers for the surround sound speakers instead of my RSLs.

Boy I know what you all mean about the price going up and up. I'm thinking of upgrading my receiver next year!

Thanks everyone, I've gotten a lot to think about. The media room is almost finished and I'm goint to start auditioning.

Well, I tried out some Polk Audio, Tannoys, NHTs and Klipsch. Ended up buying some small Klipsch bookshelf for the mains and a center channel. Bought a 12" Polk Audio subwoofer for now. The price was right and I liked the bass. I was really torn between the Klipsch and the Tannoys but ended up buying the Klipsh's because they sounded brighter and livelier than the Tannoys.

I auditioned 5 CDs and 2 DVDs with each set. I did not buy any surrounds. What I think I'll do is pick up a larger pair of Klipsch speakers for the mains and use the ones I currently have for the surrounds. I'm using my wife's infinity speakers for the surrounds right now and she wants them back. I ended up chosing the Klipsch and Tannoys because they were both offered by local dealers. I try to buy locally when I can and the prices were about the same or less than what I could buy on the Internet.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions and comments. I've had them for a little over 6 months now and I'm very happy with everything. If I do upgrade, I might upgrade the sub. It's fine but I'm sure there are better ones out there for a similar price.
