Yes!

There are three circuits for the power amp case, all switched to the respective amps by 24 volt relays. You can see the three relays and the 24 volt transformer to power the relay switches in this picture.

Here you can see the AC wiring, which is standard house wiring. You can also see the intake for the variable speed Fantec extractor fan. It is a very quiet fan, mounted a long way away from the intake.

Hey Thanks TLS Guy, these are nice pictures (with these gorgeous Quad amps). I think that I've seen those before, but it's nice to see them again, for sure.
* That's a very straight answer to my question. That's the way I like it. :)

The AC wiring is 10 gauge, isn't it? Is this the standard gauge?

Congratulations on this nice work, plus these very nice Quads. ;)
Oh, and your system, is a true model of inspiration.

Regards,

Bob

Don't forget though that the ga matters for voltage drops and the wires in the walls are very long compared to the wire from a component. But then, easy to do an IR drop calc for a 4ft-6ft cord;):D
It's a FACT. ;) And it's very agreeable. :)

Since the wires in the walls are the longest they contribute far more to the resistance than the power cord, unless it is made from bell wire!

If the cord is not warm to the touch it is big enough gauge.
Another FACT. ;) And again, easily agreeable. :)

"Bell wire", I might have some of those in my garage closet doors. ;)

* Hot cord, it's a No No.

*** Anyway, you two gentlemen, are in my "best buddy" list. :)

You both have my sincere respects,

Bob

It finally dawned on me that this topic is as hotly contested as the abortion issue. My audiophile mentors were a couple of brothers who ran tube amps and vinyl with vintage speakers (JBL Hartsfields). Their rigs sounded very nice. But when I watched them transported into audio nirvana after spending $2k on a pair of NOS GE 300B tubes and saying the difference was stunning. Then doing the same thing with silver speaker wire. Then again with 1k interconnects. I was puzzled and told them I thought it was hogwash and they were hearing things that weren't there. They said that their hearing was more sensitive than mine........This was before I'd ever heard of the great debate. I started googling and reading. I respond to logic and common sense. When people abandon this path, they lose me. The snake oil analogy is spot on. Have you ever read the descriptions on snake oil type remedies? They are very convincing in how effective they are. Just like the whole boutique wire company's description in the above link.
Please know I mean no disrespect in mentioning the abortion issue, but I think my comparison is a fair one- both sides are dug in and won't change their minds no matter how much reasoning and logic is applied.

Looks like this thread has been dead and buried for a decade or so....thought I would join this site to see if anyone else is feeling the love for the Shanling A-3000 or the A-300. I recently picked up a pair of JBL250TI speakers...was not really that impressed with them after trying a couple of my amps. I picked up my Shanling A-3000 a couple of weeks ago....can't believe the quality. The amp is a beast....I love this thing!
