New Setup/M-Cube subwoofer Question?

Hello-

I am new to the forums and wanted to thank everyone ahead of time.

Four or five years ago I bought the m-cube 5 speaker setup and the subwoofer. I am thinking about totalling re-doing my audio system. I am thinking about first getting a new receiver in the $500 range (I currently have a 5.1 Integra DTR 4.7) as well as new speakers (probably the Infinity Primus P362s) to start and having a 3.1 system (purchasing a center speaker as well though that is still being planned).

I was thinking about keeping the M-Cube subwoofer that I have right now and using it until I figure out what I want to do for a sub and satellite speakers. I am slightly confused about a few things:

1. How should my hook ups work to my new receiver? Should I connect the stand speakers to the sub and the sub to the receiver like I did with the M-Cube satellites?
2. I have looked at the HSU subwoofers as an entry level new option but it appears the back has only two inputs and two outputs. Which speakers would I connect through the sub if I bought that sub?
3. Do I even need a subwoofer if I get the Infinity P362s?

Just as a guide for my entire setup, I am looking to spend less than $1,500 and the room I will have this setup in is about 18x12.

Any recommendations, subwoofer and other speakers, would be really appreciated.

I hope to be able to contribute to the forum myself soon.

Mike
