Pioneer is making four new additions to their Elite receivers with the introduction of the SC-27, SC-25, VSX-23TXH, and VSX-21TXH. With such features as ICEPower amplification, Internet streaming, iPhone control, and lots more, Pioneer is looking to entice you to upgrade whether you are ready to or not. With prices ranging from $700 to $2000, there certainly is something for everyone in this new group of offerings from Pioneer.

I'm eyeing up the SC-27 if it comes down in price quickly.

No one knows anything about the video processor though.

I suspect it might be the custom one that they've been using in their Blu-ray players (BDP-51FD/05FD, etc.).

Did anyone else notice the part about the detachable power cords making their return?

SC-25 Internet Music Streaming

I understand that Pioneer's SC-25 and SC-27 receivers can stream music from your computer's hard drive. Easy enough to understand. In the press release for the new receivers it also says that you can stream music from Rhapsody given that you have a subscription. My question is can the SC-25 and SC-27 models stream music from websites that do not require a subscription such as Grooveshark?

Great question and one I wouldn't mind knowing the answer to as well. Same/similar question - what about other services such as Zune?

I use TVersity as the media server to both of my HMG enabled Elite displays with rhapsody with no issues. It also allows for flac and ogg playback.
