I recently had a hardware failure in my xbox 360 and sent it in to microsoft. They replaced it with a refurbished unit. Now, when I go to set up my display options on the new unit they sent me there is an option for 1080p? My other 360 did not have that. Is microsoft adding that now (to new and refurbished ones)?

They added this feature a little while ago as an update. It upconverts any game to 1080p over component cables and VGA cables and it upconverts dvds to 1080p over VGA only. I don't notice much of a difference on the games compared to 1080i but the dvds are much better than the 480p. The only problem with dvds is that the 360 is so loud. Other than that I find the picture quality pretty good, especially since it was only a $40 upgrade for the VGA cable.
