What weighs 125 pounds, has seven channels, and needs two power cords?

Outlaw Audio took the wraps off the company's latest and most powerful amplifier, the 7900, which is rated at 7 x 300 watts continuous into 8 ohms and 7 x 450 watts into 4 ohms. At 125 pounds (56.6990463 kilograms), the amp weighs just a couple of pounds more than former talk-show host Ricki Lake's new bod (US Magazine says she went from size 24 to 4 without surgery). Unlike Ms. Lake, the 7900 eats so much electricity, it uses two separate power cords. Outlaw Audio suggests you plug it in to two different outlets, so make sure you have an extra-long extension cord. In addition to the price of the extension cord, figure on spending $3,500 for the 7900.
Outlaw also showed off the new Outlaw LCR speaker ($700, shipping in September). The speaker is built with two crossovers. One of the crossovers is for use when the speaker is installed as a vertical left or right main speaker. In this configuration, the speaker operates as a standard two-way. When used as a center channel speaker, the other crossover can be engaged, making the speaker a 2 1/2-way design. This setup helps eliminate lobing and can also be used to help direct sound into specific listening areas of the room when you have installation placement issues.

Only One Question....

How hot does it run?
My old B&K 7270 could cook meat after a couple hours.

isn't the outlaw monoblocks a combo of class A for the first 80 watts and class H (or whatever letter) for the rest of the 200w?

maybe this is the same.

The Outlaw monoblocks, the (200 discontinued) and the 2200 current are the same class as the big Emotiva (H or G). The remaining Outlaw amps are all class AB.

Actually 2100watts excedes what you'll get from a 15amp fuse. You'll need an electrician to install 2 breakers just to power the amp (not just 2 outlets... most rooms have all outlets on one breaker).

Nah, just run an extension cord out the window to a generator :D

I can't wait till the day comes I'll need an additional 200A service just to run my theater. Lights dim in the neighborhood when I power up

Well you wouldn't want the possibility of other peoples lights polluting your movie viewing experience :p.

The purist approach would be 2 ea. 5 kw generators in sound proof concrete bunkers using methane from your household waste for fuel. Then you would also be in good standing with the environmentalist. :)

Blaaahhhh You don't need an electrician for this... Run your own 2 dedicated circuits, with 20 or 30 amp breakers... I wouldn't be pluggin that THING into the wall outlet...
Thats what I had to do, as soon as I saw what my Plus/2 was doing to the lights in the Theater room.... And now my stupid a$$ just bought another Sub, not colocated and Im right back in the same boat... Now I need to run another:rolleyes:  ...

BTW That is a freakin cool amp...

Yes those tweeters would definitely air out then.:)
I wonder if the wife would buy into the inefficient tweeter story?
I errored on the 790's weight, it is 145 lbs not 125 lbs.
The smallest breakers in my home are 20 amp.
My house wiring is up to the task!
I think the wife might still be an obstacle?
