My GF has an HTC Vivid and what a hunk-o-junk that thing is.

In general, HTC seems to make some pretty good phones, but that Vivid isn't one of them.

Since this is a phone thread, I'll throw it out here:

What is a "great" phone on the market right now? Personally, I like SMALL phones because they fit my pocket better, so what is a great, full-featured SMALL phone?

I'm planning to get one, haven't decided which. I've grown to loathe my Samsung Galaxy S3 over the years. I'm waiting for the iPhone 6 to get off Android and Samsung's crapware.

My LG G2 is wondrous, but I flashed it with Cyanogenmod about an hour into owning it. My wife loves her HTC One, still running stock firmware. My phone is faster, but hers sounds better. So I'd say, LG G3 or HTC whateverhassucceededtheOne would be worth checking out. Neither is small, but my G2 still fits easily into my front jeans pocket. Phone Arena - Phone News, Reviews and Specs is a great site for comparing features of phones -- or at least it was when I was in the market last.

I've got a good friend who owns a phone repair shop. He says samsungs aren't very. Motorola is hit or miss. LG is his favorite, and has taken over for Nokia since Nokia went the way of Windows Mobile. He says HTC is also a solid choice, but his overall preference is LG.

The live stream was so smug.

I basically just want a smaller iPad Mini that works as a phone, lol, so, 6 Plus is probably the right choice.

The Apple Watch isn't for me for a myriad of reasons, I don't even know where to begin lol.

ApplePay is sort of cool. Hoping NFC in the phones means NFC business cards will take off (pleeasseee!!!)

Most people on this forum seem to know that buying a brand name isn't worth the up charge on speakers/cables/amps. If this statement held true for personal electronics such as phones/tablets, the question should answer itself

I have no issues with my BlackBerry z10, way late to the party but all the features are superb especially the browser. It's a shame that they marketed themselves out of the consumer market. As a note even if they go under I'm pretty sure the US government will not let their tech to be bought by a foreign government owned corporation.

i was open minded and got a nexus 7 a few years back (from using ipads) ... i looked at the specs of the nexus 7 vs ipad mini retina.
the nexus 7 pretty much trumped the ipad mini across the board except screen surface area.

i have since sold the nexus and now have the ipad mini.

why?

1) apps, there's just more useful apps with ios
2) speed, hardware wise, the android should have been the faster unit, but it was just plain sluggish.
3) holy crap the ads on the android, i'm sure there's a way around that, but i don't want/need to learn android to use a freakin "game n watch"

that's why i'm sticking with apple. i don't need the latest and greatest though, i only buy a phone or tablet if i need another one or the one i am using is busted. (old ipad 2's are still going strong)

I've had my Z30 for about 3 months and I love it. Typing is an absolute breeze with the predictive keyboard and battery life is waaaaay better than the 5S that my wife owns. If you don't want/need a hundred different fart apps, it's a fantastic alternative to Android & iOS.

Same story, reasons and philosophy.

I'm getting a 6 Plus. Because I want a larger display but didn't like the Android user experience. But, doesn't mean I'm in love with Apple - something better comes along for me, I'll be there. Loyalty in electronics is overrated. ;) The end.

Love my iPhone, have always loved my iPhone. Hate iTunes, but never use it except for putting some music on the phone.

But, as a product, the iPhone does what it is supposed to do and does it well. I'm not knocking Android, or anything else, but most people complain about the 'limitations' of the iPhone, which just isn't a factor if it does all that you want/need it to do. Good service from Verizon combined with a quality product.

I started with a iPod Touch, then got the 4s. It does a good job with all my contacts, calendar, email, and calls. The addition of the apps, and the camera are perks to me. So, I'm looking at the Plus, but may carry around a small book in my pocket for a couple of weeks to see if it will drive me nuts, in which case I'll get the regular 6 instead. Either way, after 3 years of being happy, I have no intent to change to something which may just piss me off for the next three years.

not to mention it will run andriod apps and you dont have to side load if you download the amazon app store as they install directly.

Top reasons I choose Android over iOS. iOS has:

· no swipe gesture keyboards
· no Firefox, Chrome, or any other app capable of evaluating scripts besides bloody Safari
· no firewall app to block net access from apps you'd rather not have online
· no UI customization
· weak Bluetooth functionality
· dependency on iTunes for PC < - > device file management

I could probably enumerate more.

Top reasons I'd choose iOS over Android:

· larger selection of 3rd party accessories (cases, docks, etc)
· SoundPrism
· That's... that's all I can think of right now.
