New Infinity Primus versions

That center looks very interesting.
I am using Infinity Beta 50's for my fronts and a Beta C360 for my center. I use Infinity IL10's for surround rears. I have no complaints. They are not the best I've heard, but they do a lot of things very well. I can't find anything that they really do wrong.
I would imaging that the Primus follow suit somewhat, a lot of bang for the buck!!

Nobody had anything to say when I mentioned them in the other thread, so figured I'd throw out a new thread on them. The main difference appears to be cosmetic, though the midbass drivers look new with the different, dark color.

The most interesting new model would be the larger center:

The IL-10s are probalby my favorite bookshelf from Infinity in recent years. The new Primus line looks more like an evolution from the former, rather than a revolutionary step up. I guess "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" must apply here :)

how do the beta 50's sound in bass terms. 2 eights should sound well. do they have a rear port. how much power are you pushing them with

I agree!
In fact IMO if I were to use twin subs I would be partial to the IL10's to any Beta series.

The Beta 50 have very tight accurate bass, but you still need a sub for the lowest two octaves. They have a rear port.

I am driving the Beta 50's in the BI-AMP configuration. I have 200 W RMS going to the BASS and 200 W RMS to the mids and high via an Outlaw 770 amp.

I had a C25 and it was a great little center. I really wish they would de-uglify those things though, I remember taking the grille off once and regretting it!!

the new Primus modles look a little less ugly than the old ones. :p the new, larger, center is a nice idea.
BTW, the new subs have a bit more power now too.

Yeah, they're less than pretty. I had an IL C25 and 2 more IL 10's. As you said though the sound was very good. My daughter and her husband are now using them.
