Congrats... I just recently got a CLR 3000 and it's a night and day difference over my CLR 2002. Now I'm eyeballing a pair of BP7002 to replace my current BP10s.

Those powered built-in subs are special, huh?:D

Do you let the CLR3000 turn off automatically by itself? I do. I let all of them turn off by themselves.

BTW, BP7002 (Anechoic): 25 Hz - 20 kHz +/- 3dB.

Yeah, I let it turn off on it's own... it has no on/off switch, so the only other way to turn it off would be to unplug it, and I'm not about to do all that every time I power down the system.

My friend has a pair of old BP2006 and for a wihle I thought they were BP2004 since they are as tall as my BP8s, but last time I was over there I looked closer and was surprised when I saw they were the small ones. So I figure if he gets that much output from those little speakers, imagine what I could do with a pair of the larger ones. Although his theater room is a converted single car garage, and mine is a living room that opens to the kitchen and dining room, so I have a whole lot more open area.

The interesting thing about these speakers is that when I listen to music or watch movies @ 80 dB-A, I cannot hear anything else. They seem to fill up the entire room with clear sound no matter where you sit or stand. Forget about conversations in the room when these speakers are on.

If movie theaters had these Def Tech speakers, I wouldn't be able to hear a peep out of any motor-mouth kids! It would truly be nothing but the movie.:D

Well I got the in walls installed and I have the center somewhat mounted on top of the TV, and wow what a difference. But I have been playing with my speaker levels and I have a few questions. I know that everyones set up is probably different but how are you guys setting the levels on the mains. My RXV/1 Yamaha does not allow you to adjust the mains. Whats a good rule of thumb on setting the levels on the system?

My Center is set at +3 now it was at +7.5 with the little one.

And my rear effect speakers are set at +7.5

Can't remember what the sub is set at but I will look when I get home.

The reason for my question is last night I was listening to a little music on Dish Network which I think is Sirus radio and when I turned the effect off my mains were down so low I could not even hear them.

I know I need to post some pic's but just have not done it yet. I have to figure out how to do it first.:D No one has any input on how to set my speaker levels.:(

Set speaker levels with an SPL meter and test tones from either your receiver, or a calibration dvd such as Avia or DVE.

Since the mains' levels are not adjustable, they'll be used as the reference level to set the others.

Thank you thats what I was looking for. I did just that yesterday and because my mains are a little power hungry, I had to turn the volume on the receiver up past 50% just to get started. After seeing that I decided to put my NAD 2600 amp in line to drive the mains and it helped a lot.
