Folks, here is the info that I have personally been waiting for. Not sure how many here have the Chanes speakers. But, I find this to be very interesting. So, w/o any further ado:

https://www.chanemusiccinema.com/loudspeakers/chane-loudspeakers

There will be a new A1.4 and an A2.4. Of these two, the A2.4 has my full attention. Seriously thinking about ordering a set when they become available. Three of them would be awesome inmho. Prices went up a little, but they still are very affordable. Have always been a BIG fan of the MTM design. ;);););)

Cheers,

Phil

Chase, Arcx, Chane .... When I'll get to see measurements of at least one of these and what's up with all the commotion and excitement? Honest vendors like Ascend or JTR don't seem to have any issues publishing them out in the open.... just saying... Heck, even PSA started to follow it

This thread has some Chane measurements, but nothing official.

Phil, with all respect due I can't understand your thought process behind cycling through all the similarly priced bookshelf/stand mount speakers in such short order. We're all different but what I would do is wait and save up to see just why there's so much buzz about Sierra 2, LS50, Aria 206, M106 and similar speakers in the $1000-1800 a pair range.

That is a valid point. I am not sure why there are no published measurements. But, I do know that the Chanes have quite the following. So, Jon Lane is doing something right. Just may have to check a set out for myself. Not in no hurry though.

Guess, I just have a fascination with speakers....LOL!!! No really, not sure which direction that I am going in just yet. Wanted to check out the JBL 530's and/or the new Chane A2.4. Neither are available right now, so it will give me more time to decide.

Of the speakers that you mention, the KEF LS50's really have piqued my interest. Have no interest in the Sierra 2' s at this time. Much more interested in the BMR's. But, in order to go that route I first have to sell my Ultras. Not sure if you are aware, but they are up for sale. That should tell you something.

Cheers,

Phil

It does, but I'm not sure what. They may not represent my ideal speaker, but they don't suck either. I don't know about you, but I could live with them in the near term as I spend time auditioning other stuff, whether that's finding locals with gear you're interested in or taking advantage of the return policies of various ID vendors. Seems like that would be more cost effective in the long term versus buying/selling regularly. Doubly so if you're the type that gets hot and bothered by the latest and greatest speakers that claim to offer performance better than those costing 10x as much :D

I am fully aware of his followers, yet I don't feel that based on limited data I do have that ArX/Chanes are not for me. If something even a little bit smells fishy, I'd rather not to waste my time.

I wish I could count how many buyers of the LS50 have said "keeper" and done so.

No No no the Ultras do NOT suck. I agree with you on that Steve. My original plan was to use my Polks until I got some things paid off. However, I figured out rather quickly that was NOT going to be the case. Things have not gone as planned.

That is how I ended up with the Ultras. When I sold all of my Polks, I then had the funds to buy the Ultras. Even have managed to get (2) PSA S1500's. Also, have gotten some things straightened out with my finances. So, I am looking at making a BIG move. Just need to sell my Ultras first.

In the meantime, the Ultras will easily hold me over. Much better than my Polks. The reason I am considering the Chanes A2.4 is because I am very fond of an MTM design. Just plan to check them out. Taking advantage of the return policy has been my plan all along.

Hoping to also check out the JBL 530's. Someone over at AVS PM'd me offering his for $430 or so plus shipping. He even lives in Kentucky-so shipping would have been very affordable. However, I would have no way to return them if they are not to my liking. So, I passed on them.

Right now, the 530's are NOT in stock and the Chanes A2.4 are not even available just yet. So, I am fine with my Ultras. No complaints whatsoever. Once the Ultras sell, I may just opt for my BIG move. Getting there slowly, but surely.

Cheers,

Phil

Would love to hear the LS50's Ken. I just seen some pics of a set-up over at AVS that has them. Wow! I am impressed. I noticed he was using JL subs. It looked like Paradigm Towers, but not too sure. Anyways, the LS50's certainly have piqued my interests.

Cheers,

Phil

Here ya go.

Thanks! I am so wowed by these! Looks like JL Fathom subs. At first thought that the towers are Paradigm. But looking more closely, I can tell that they are not. Either way, impressive set-up! Bet it sounds fantastic!

Fair enough, but my advice is simply to remain patient. IMHO, the Ultra bookshelves don't leave a lot on the table, particularly when properly integrated with a couple of high quality subs. I can't say that I would sell them in hopes of finding a diamond in the rough that sell for half the cost, MTM or not. Even with speakers like the LS50s or something like the new Philharmonitor, you may or may not find the improvement to be worth the added expense/hassle.
