Netflix vs. Blockbuster a hands on journal.

I've used the Netflix "3 @ home" plan for a little over 1 year, and I have been happy with the service.

Early on in my membership, I had some throttling issues. I'd quickly turn the movies over, and the service was obviously throttled. They'd hold the returns for a couple days before shipping, ship too many titles from 1,000+ miles away, etc, etc, etc..... I've since settled into a regular routine, and all throttling issues have long since vanished.

As things stand now, all I expect from Netflix are 3 fresh movies ON TIME for "Friday Night Movie" night each week, and the service have proven reliable. The movies always send in order, and my 'wait list' for specific titles is typically short. Sometimes, I'll even receive movies that are shown as being on a wait list.

I always mail all three returns in the same envelope on Monday Morning, and I always make sure it's an envelope to my local return address. Every once in a blue moon, a movie will still return-ship from from somewhere 1,000 miles away, but it's now always one of those off the beaten path titles. I just make sure that envelope is quickly discarded.
(so I dont accidentally send my returns in that envelope)
LOL
My fresh titles typically arrive by WED. Not always.......but at least they always arrive before Friday, which is all that matters to me. Netflix isnt perfect, but since I've settled into a routine, I've been very pleased with the services rendered.

I have received a 3-4 cracked DVDs over the past 14 months, but they're usually very fast to send a replacement. (fast enough, that the replacement is usually on time for movie night if I report it as soon as it's received).
