Need towers that sound like M&K

Looking for some speakers for my dedicated HT. My favorite speakers that I have heard to date are the M&K s-150's.

Unfortunately, the DIY sub I built may have trouble crossing over at 80Hz and will probably be better crossed at 60 or 40Hz. The M&K's frequency only extends down to 80Hz.
Now, to be honest I have never heard anyone's DIY, so I can't compare. What I have heard is as follows, not sure of the models, but the towers are all their top range speaker: Polk, Klipsch, B&W, Energy, Def. Tech. Hard to say what my favorites were. I thought that for the price, the energy speakers were just as good as the B&W. I use some older Polk towers now, but after hearing the M&K, they sound very "thin". Not sure how to describe it, it just seems like the world opens up with the M&K's. They are very, very detailed, maybe bright. I may have to try some online brands like Axiom and send back the ones I don't like. If, however, anyone has listened to the M&K's( THX, frequency 80Hz and up) and knows of a larger speaker that sounds similar, please let me know. All thoughts welcome.

I find the M&Ks to be bright. More detailed than Axiom though, so I don't think they'd be an ideal mix. You might look at the Ascend Acoustics CMT-340 with the matching stands. They are very accurate and sound similar to the M&Ks, though I think the Ascends sounded better with music to my ears. They should have no problem being crossed at 80Hz, and possibly OK with 60Hz as well with a -3dB somewhwere around 50Hz (anechoic is 48Hz).

They don't quite sound the same though. The M&Ks are brighter to my ears (which is odd considering M&K use soft domes and Axiom uses titanium), and the midbass has a very different sound, with the Axioms using metal midbass drivers. Interestingly, they sounded right at home when I dropped a pair into my former Paradigm setup.

Dave Fabrikant, Ascend's lead guy, posted something on the Ascend forum recently about M&K and brightness in some of their lines being related to THX Select specs.

Yeah, that much I know. They are bright because when you use THX post processing it dials down the highs and that would be fine for a movie only system, but for music that doesn't work for me. I don't want to have to use processing to compensate for the speakers and the speakers shouldn't compensate for the processing, IMO.

M3s, M2s, M22s. Haven't heard the floorstanders, but the M&Ks were bookshelf too, the 750s I believe.

We installed some M & K's in a system for a clinet, and also did another room with some Paradigm Studio 100's. The Studio 100's outperformed the M & K's. I like the Studio 40's, 60's, and the 100's for the simple fact that you don't need a sub for music listening. They will handle pretty much anything you throw at them. I have dealt with a lot of different speakers (B & W, JBL, M & K, and polk.) I like the way the Paradigm sound and you get a lot of speaker for the money.

AudioVideoVentu,
What series of M&K did you use? Why did you prefer the Paradigms?

what about Atlantic Tecnology? These speakers have some nice reviews, but I will have to see if someone around has a demo of them. I am wondering if the THX on the M&K's made any difference, and if so, maybe I should try to find some full range THXers. Here is the web site to some I am looking at and hope to audition.
