Just to be curious...
What's your brother-inlaw's full system setup?

He has an entry level pioneer elite, polk speakers, rti10, csi5, not sure on rear and backs, cheap dvd player, 3 polk subs, and a NAD amp.

I wouldn't recommend the Integra amp over a Rotel. I've had both.
Very interesting, I just found out that the store i deal with is dropping the rotel line and picked up NAD.

i wouldnt use the rotel processors too ... your bro-in-law will murder that with bells and whistles of the elite. (he'll simply ask you stuff like: "does that thing have this..." and you're done.)

just FYI ... people say the strictly 2 channel amps give better music vs. using 2 of the channels of the multichannel amps. (or am i being vague? e.g. in 2 channel music the RB1070 will beat the RMB1075)

how about a single RMB1077 digital amp ... rumor has it, it beats the RMB1095

What are you looking for bells and whistles or sound? Rotel processor will definetly sound better, and like Mikec says a 2ch. amp for front wll sound much better for stereo( rb 1080) plus a 1075 for 5 other channels .Pesonally I went from Onkyo to Rotel and there is a LOT of difference in sound quality to me , granted I dont have all the bells and whistles . There was a big difference when I added the 1080 to the Onkyo and a even bigger one when I got the 1068 to replace the Onkyo. I did have the 1075 ( running 3 other channels now) running all 5 channel before I got the 1080, the 1080 sounds much better running the studio 100's. Just my 0.02
