Im in a huge competition with my bro in law. I think I could have him beat if I could just decide which AMp to purchase.

I have a integra dtr 6.4 receiver, definitve clr2500 center, bp7004 towers, monitor rears, and a seperate sub.

For amp im looking at the Rotel RMB1075, RMB1095, Integra DTA9.4

I am at a crossroads here so I come to you all for help.

Cheers,
J

New amp

Check out the Emotiva MPS-1 amp from AV123.com. If your integra has balanced outputs, you will be able to use them. You get 200 Watts @ 8 ohms (300 @ 4) x 7 channels for $2,000. Read the AH review.

For besting your bro, you might also consider an SVS Ultra subwoofer, adding buttkickers to your HT furniture, or a front projector.

If that competition also includes speakers, you want to buy or build a real sub that will just overwhelm his:D

Rotel Pre-Pro with the LCD screen upfront (forgot the model)
RMB1095
Velodyne DD-18

done.

note: its done unless he hasn't bought anything yet and is willing to top what you will buy. (better wait til he's stuck with his own purchases-then buy something slightly better if you want to save money)

Jay, whats your budget? The Anthem Statement P5 is something that will be tough to beat. Here is an exhaustive review,

Well if I wasnt married my budget would be unlimited ($5000) but im a sucker for good deals. The store I buy from has a integra research RDA 7.1 for $4300 canadian plus tax, still over my married budget but a steal at $8000 retail.

In reality I was looking to spend between 2-3 thousand dollars canadian

just about anything will beat his elite into next week ...

Yamaha RX-V2600 with Rotel RMB1075/1095 (the 2600 will match the elite with the number bells and whistles)
or
Rotel RSP1098 with Rotel RMB1075/1095 (the LCD on the processor will drop his mouth down to the floor)

canadian eh, have you checked out Bryston amps?

Yeah I'm sure my integra receiver and defintive speakers kick his Elite and polk audio's.

I looked at Bryston, but its out of my range. I wanted to know if I should stay with the integra line for an amp or pick up a rotel?

if you only have 5 channels to power ... I prefer the rotel 1095 (you say its CHEAPER by 1000bucks right?)

OR if you want to be talked about for years to come :)

RB1092 x 2 ( 2500USD + 2500USD)
RB1091 x 1 ( 1500USD )

prices have no discount yet ... can be as much as 25% i think

(these digital amps from rotel have 500wpc ... depending on the price again, it will smoke that integra) how much is that integra?

I wouldn't recommend the Integra amp over a Rotel. I've had both.
and that's how the cookie crumbles.

RB1092 front LR
RB1091 center
RB1080/1090 rears (so you can save a little cash)

usd is something i dont deal in, adds 25% to the price (there goes my discount) I think I might start witha Rotel RMB1075 for $800 canadian, if I notice a big difference ill start saving for the bigger one.

thanks for the feedback, now do you have an opinion on which rotel and which processor? I want to go in stages so 1st thing is the amp to go with my receiver.
